Deco floral design in reds and yellows against a blue and white background impress on this Whiting and Davis mesh purse. Large zig-zag fringe bottom and layered deco frame and clasp with a serpentine handle are unusual notations to the purse. Original yellow silk lining with pocket for mirror has some staining. The Libby: This purse is a brand new in the box, never used mesh purse issued in 1996 by the Whiting and Davis Company, the pioneers in mesh purse manufacturing. It is in pristine condition with all the original tissue emblazoned with the WD logo, the plastic wrapping, the paper hang tag, the original box with the limited edition number and the certificate of authenticity. Nothing is missing on this one. It is one of a set of three commemorating the company's 120th year in business and only 250 of each bag were issued and sold in advance. The Libby, with a swinging compact double mirror, in brass finish, is fully lined with a long attached 23 inch chain. It measures 4 inches wide by 6 1/4 inches in length. This is Libby Number 97.

Delicate pastel blue mesh purse with hints of orange and off-white background. Light blue wash over a floral embossed frame. Pointed sapphire colored cabochons adorn the clasp. Elongated chain link handle and original soft canary lining noted. Measures 6 inches in length by 5 inches wide. Some minor fading noted. Priced at 95.

French Deco Mesh Purse with Extraordinary Face

Wonderful French mesh purse of the deco era with a very rare and unusual figural insert. A whimsical garland adorned harlequin face embellishes the front of this gold linked mesh purse in an ivory toned material, possibly bakelite or celluloid. The mesh body is in perfect condition with an alternating link design and a simple straight fringe bottom. "Made in France" is noted on a tag attached to the inner frame. Elongated chain handle measures 13 inches. The purse itself measures 3 1/8 wide by 7 1/4 in length. In excellent condition. SOLD!
